Hello!
Leoni (Leo) Paul is a Malawian creative based in Vancouver. Her film Weavers (2021) explores weaving practices and fair trade in Malawi. Leo worked as a character designer and animator on Camouflage (2021) which premiered at the Imagine Film Festival Amsterdam, and as a compositor on Spirit Bear and Children Make History (2020) which premiered at Vancouver International Film Festival. She continued her work on the Spirit Bear sequels and other projects as VFX Supervisor at Spotted Fawn Productions before moving on to a compositor position at The Treebees Inc. and then the role of Project Manager at Hammer&Tong (an experimental media studio). She has received several awards, including the Gold Duke of Edinburgh Award (with skills in art), the Emily Carr University of Art + Design Entrance Scholarship and the Christopher Foundation Scholarship. You can also catch Leo volunteering with dogs, as a Certified Professional Dog Trainer.
